WTF: I met the exgirlfriend of the guy I like last night. She's absolutely gorgeous, funny, and smart. I have realized that I don't stand a chance or want to be compared to that.

    Generally the only person that will have respect for you ,is you. But now you've removed even that.

    10:19, don't be so harsh on the OP. just because she might not have super high self esteem doesn't mean she doesn't respect herself.

    OP, take it as an ego-booster! if your bf had a track record of having such high standards for dating someone that great, then you must be just as good as his ex, even if it's not in the same ways :)

    I can't help but kind of agree with 10:19 and OP. Really, I would scale out my chances based on two things: how the other person treats me and their previous experiences. I think it's true that we all chase after a certain type of person.

    Maybe the fudge lady will be in the SLC and help you get over it.

    true, we may chase after a certain type of person, but those are just OP's descriptions, and they're all kind of subjective - who says that OP isn't attractive, funny, or smart, either?

    so yeah i guess 10:19 was kind of right, if you don't think you have the chance, then you've killed the chance for yourself already.

    It's true that YOU (OP) may think that she's gorgeous, etc etc but at the end of the day, they're not together anymore. The only thing you can really look at is WHY they broke up and see if he's worth your time...

    IMO anyway.
