WTF: Can someone think of a good way to start some kind of collateral system for leaving your seat at DC? I'm too paranoid that if I leave for even a minute, the person sitting beside me will grab my laptop and run.

    Just take your laptop with you.

    If you're just leaving for a minute to hit the washroom, you could maybe leave a note saying the seats taken. As long as you're not gone for too long.

    I would never leave my laptop sitting out in public. It's one of the most expensive things I own not to mention all the data/files on it that would be a supreme hassle to live without.

    I actually just leave it and walk away...I was paranoid when I first started coming to DC but *shrugs*. Or bring a friend to study with and you can watch each other's stuff.
