WTF: I know the Waterboys are cool, but aren't any dudes interested in an all-voice a cappella group?

  1. By all-voice, do you mean all-gender?

  3. I wish this group had started in the fall, then I could've been in it!

  4. Well why can't you now? Co-op?

  5. You mean the unaccompanied minors?

  6. No, I was thinking of starting a different group, or amalgamating with them, since I was actually unaware of the group's existance before 5 minutes ago...

  7. If you can get hot girls to join that group I will seriously consider joining your group. The only reason I ever sang in highschool was because girls loved it. That's why The Waterboys isn't very appealing... I'm sorry but a few public appearances isn't worth the effort of being stuck with a bunch of dorky guys for 4 months.

I'm sure I'm not the only closet singing guy who's holding back for this reason.

  9. Hm..
Well, I just don't want there to be some spirit of competition between the two groups, that's all. I mean, I'd rather have a smallish (10-20 members, 5 per-part, sort of deal) group that trained for more competitive singing with other schools.

There are some good looking girls in the group thus far, and if we can generate more interest, I'd definitely go for a winter-term start-up. Please tell your dude friends, and if you're a guy "closet singer", you've got nothing to be afraid of!

  10. Also, I can guarantee we'll be good. I was a leading member of my high-school choir, and it's won Gold standard at national competitions for the past 15 years. I learned a lot from my music teachers..

  11. Alright, but I have co-op all winter. I wouldn't be able to join till next fall.

  12. That's fine, as long as the interest is there :) I'll be living in waterloo year-round (no student jobs where my parents live), so the group will likely run from this winter until... hopefully forever!
