WTF: I feel really uncomfortable walking down and ice- and snow-covered set of concrete stairs, gripping a wet railing. Good job preparing for Winter, UW. Not like it comes EVERY YEAR AROUND THIS TIME or anything..

  1. I know what you mean. I saw someone take a tumble going up the stairs last night, but they were okay. Things froze quickly though.

  2. I was walking to campus today to discover most of the walkways had been plowed, exposing the layer of ice underneath the snow, but they weren't salted... that was fun :\

  3. I blame the City of Waterloo too... I mean, you CAN forcast the weather. When you know a shitload of snow's coming, put salt on the fucking road the night before!

  4. ^ they will have to plow the snow anyways, if you salt the ground too early, the salt will either be wasted or plowed away.

  5. ^I know, but it's better than doing nothing until two days after the snow's already fallen.

  8. The City of Waterloo is terrible for this. Half the roads I drove down last night weren't plowed. Come on, people...

It's important because it's a safety issue. I was driving a Jeep with 4-wheel drive, and even I was sliding around.

  9. stop complaining! it's just a little snow, all you southern ontarians need to spend a little time in the north and experience some real winter weather!

  10. ^LOL Yeah 'cause the London Snow Belt isn't famous for.... you know, SNOW, or anything..

and I come from a poor, backwoods region right on Lake Ontario. We get more snow than northern ontario and the maritmes, yet our roads still get plowed and salted on time...
