  6. How isn't your GPA ruined from failing your entire first year?

  7. Fact: when you apply to post-grad schools, they look mostly at the grades in your senior year(s).

  8. i hope that is true!
i need to get into law school too and my first year grades are not that great

  9. It is true! 100%! Heard from a student advisor myself that they take your last 11 grades and send it to your post-grad school. That is it!

  10. ya some schools even might be as cool as to only choose your best marks from the final three years. Dn't worry people, it's not the end of the world.

  11. I failed chem 120 in my first year. Felt really embarrassed but then I retook it the winter and then did 123 in the summer and destroyed them. People, it's not the end. Keep trying next term. Everyone parties in 1A.

  12. what course is it?
Honestly it really does depend on your major and program.
what always helps me is knowing that if I failed someone else probably did too :)

  13. a lot of people fail stuff their first year. but CHEM 120... if you couldn't pass that i don't suggest taking organic next year

  14. Freaking out about your grades in first year and how they'll affect your chances at post-grad is like freaking out about your grade 9 grades when you apply for university... pointless.

  15. I failed 3/5 courses in my first term. Now I've almost finished off my doctorate.

Try not to fail anything, obviously, but it's not the end of the world if you blow it in first year. You can make up for it. And it's very true that first year marks aren't important when you apply for grad school. As long as they see an upward trend in your average, you're golden.
