WTF: Do girls really want that kind guy that respects them or are they still into the asshole?

  1. Jesus... I'd settle for a guy who'd at least take me out to dinner before expecting me to sleep with him..

  3. Hey OP: It depends on the girl. I was a nice guy throughout all of highschool and the only girls that were into me were the really straight-laced girls. For some strange reason I was attracted to the bad girls, but I was always the nice guy and they never saw me as anything more. After highschool puberty hit me pretty hard and I started being a little cocky and things switched. Now the bad girls are into me, and the nice girls don't trust me.

The sad thing is now I just want a nice down to earth girl.

  4. 9:30, you are proof that people will always want what they can't have, no matter how many times they switch sides.

  5. It's funny how the smartest kids are the ones who can't figure out that by their nature girls are looking for alpha-males. By "assholes" you don't mean assholes. You mean cocky guys. Cocky guys aren't always assholes, but they have unbelievably high confidence. The more they think they're awesome, the more likely girls are going to think they're awesome.

  6. And 935: How do perfect couples come into existence then? They have each other, so why don't they want something else? That can't be it. There has to be something more to it.

  8. @ 9:37, thats bullshit. yes, girls do like confidence, but i've never met a single girl who likes cocky guys.

  9. Girls who have dealt with enough assholes appreciate good men. However, being a good man doesn't mean being too nice... or you'll run the risk of getting taken advantage of. Just have respect for the person, and she will respect you back.

  11. @ 937, I'm sorry, but confidence and cockiness are pretty much synonymous. And if they're not, you guys suck at telling the difference between the two.

  12. 10:33: It's guys like Puck from Glee and Dean from Supernatural that make you so so very correct. <3

  13. .... You get a thumbs up just for making a Glee reference.

    Also 10:33, I concur.

  14. I like a good balance between bad boy qualities and of a gentleman, with a dash of his own unique quirks. I always thought there was a scale for the "nice guy" label. The ones who are too nice just automatically fall in the friend zone, and there are the ones who seem like arrogant douchebags but are also genuinely great people.

I think some guys act like assholes as a facade. Either way, can't a guy be both??

  15. @11:19: hehe thank you for the thumbs up :)

  16. I always used to go for the assholes! But I think my type has changed or I don't have one. My bf right now is definately of the "nice guy" persuasion, and ended up in the friend zone alot in the past. He's funny and sweet and I'm glad he's mine!

  17. More often than not guys who know they're the nice guy are too self conscious about it.

Yea you respect a girl - that's NOTHING special. Respect is what you should have from the beginning. Confidence, cockiness or assholeness doesn't mean you don't respect the girl.

If you live your life proud of doing something you're supposed to do and acting like that's supposed to magically create something with someone, you're terribly wrong.

Don't stop from doing something because you think a nice guy wouldn't do it - just be natural. Nice guys trip over themselves way too much and give the name "nice guy" a very poor stereotype.

You don't have to be socially inept to be the nice guy. Cut the pretentious, entitlement shit and just be yourself.
