WTF: Did anyone see how it happened on the University Avenue in front of the main campus entrance?? I only saw a man lying face down in a thick puddle of blood. Horrible scene.
Pedestrian and vehicle interaction at that intersection is always crazy. I see people crossing before the little man says and almost getting hit on a daily basis.
Left campus at 7:20, the cop cars were still there and the road was still closed, didn't check out the scene though (and I'm glad I didn't after reading this)
@5:33 The extent of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act on Ring Road is pretty questionable, but the rule is always that the pedestrian has the right of way.
You are a two tonne object powered by controlled explosions, pedestrians are 200 pounds of flesh powered by more flesh. The 5 seconds you waste slowing down is insignificant to the overall length of your car ride. Slow down.
@6:18 This is the internet, this is an anon thread, and you are not a mod. What are you going to do about it?
Does anyone think the speed limit on ring road should be reduced to at least 30 (since it is a "school zone")?
I'm thinking of actually trying to change it. Personally though I'd like to see ring road closed off for cars completely. Who's sick of a mouthful of exhaust every morning? And the road is just plain dangerous.
What happened??
ReplyDeletecar hit him while he was biking (so i have been told)...looked really bad

ReplyDeleteI get so peeved with pedestrians running out in front of my car around ring road. The speed limit is STILL 40...it's still a road :(
ReplyDeleteI am not blaming this guy, situation i have no knowledge of...but just a comment on 5:20s post.

ReplyDeleteNo! I just saw 5 cop cars and a bike...
ReplyDeleteeither they're fat or...y'know, commute from out of town?
ReplyDeleteThis thread is NOT about people driving to school. Troll @ 5:45, please calm down.
ReplyDeleteOuch...i really hope it's not as bad as it seemed!
ReplyDeletewell the ambulance just stood there for like 10 minutes after they put him in.
ReplyDeleteA policeman was even asking him questions.
And he was moving his hands.
