WTF: I wonder why people here in Waterloo don't dress better. What's so wrong with wanting to look good when you go out. Drop the columbia jackets, trackpants and uggs when you go out.

  1. Stop being so superficial and allow people to dress how they want.

  3. if you have time to put on trackpants before you leave the house, then you have time to put on real pants

  4. It's school, not a beauty contest, who cares how people look or dress?

  5. Nothing wrong with sweatpants and gym clothes. Sorry that you guys need to put on a fake face (which becomes a mask you peel off at the end of the night) and you need to dress up to make yourself feel better. Some of us have confidence regardless of what we wear.

  6. Maybe some ppl think OP and others look ridiculous and they don't look good. If you're doing to attract guys, then good luck. Not all guys like fake looking girls who are all done up.

  8. not all people who like to put on something other than sweats are doing it to impress guys/girls. wearing sweats just looks sloppy and lazy, and regardless of your confidence level, it still makes you look sloppy and lazy. its not hard to throw on a pair of jeans before going to class. nobody said to wear formal attire.

  9. i don't care what people wear, as long as they look respectable and not sloppy. people our age don't seem to realize that spending time on your appearance and how you look to other people, can also be a sign of respect.

  10. It's all in how you present yourself. Slobs will be slobs.

  11. I wear sweatpants all the time...because a) I'm an athlete b) It's comfy for when I'm sitting at school in those uncomfortable chairs. If I am going to work or an interview, etc...I am not going to wear sweatpants. C'mon people. I know what respect is...I just don't need to dress up for classes and walking around campus. Also you can wear sweatpants, boots, etc...and not look like a slob. If you don't shower and have bugs growing out of your head, then you're a slob. Big difference.

  12. at one point, jeans were seen as disrespectful and a "poor man" pants. you still don't wear jeans to "respectful" occasions.

  16. People treat you differently depending on how you dress. Yes, it is true. If you're dressed like a slob, you aren't treated with the same level of respect someone who spent at least a moment trying to look decent. It's human nature. How you present yourself to the world, is a reflection of how you view yourself.

To that end, sweatpants at school is fine with me. As long as they're clean and not hanging around your ass - it's just school. What's the big deal, srsly?
