WTF: There is so much hate going on here for asian people. But...I get what people mean. Some asian people are really strange and make ALL asians look bad. I am asian...it's okay to say it...right?

    i love asian people, they've always been very nice to me.. i don't group together the geeky looking ones or associate them with being asian if thats what you mean

    and i guess for the record, yes i have yellow fever, more like the plague

    no, it's not really okay.

    you had the privilege in this sense of being westernized and north-americanized in a western society, so you have the whole of canada to back you up and make you the majority and these "weird-acting asians" the minority.

    a lot of it is to do with culture. but what you guys don't know, and are probably lucky enough to never be able to find out, is that once you go over to an asian country or somewhere that does not hold the same values you'll be the ones pointed out as committing all the social faux-pas.

    (this is coming from an asian who has lived in several countries)

    that's unfortunate, if you've been to asian countries, you'd hope that experience would give you more cultural sensitivity and the ability to tolerate and appreciate differences.

    I'm gonna say no, it's not ok to say that, whether you're asian or not asian. It's got to be a tough situation coming to another country growing up in a different culture, granted they chose to come but still, you're a prick.
