WTF: Why are there asian clubs, brown clubs, black clubs, every race and/or religion has a club on campus but white people. Why is it racist to be proud of being white? Why isn't there a white club at Waterloo? I think it's racist you can't be proud of your white heritage. I'm not hating on other races, I'm not promoting hate or violence I'm just proud of my pasty heritage ;)

  9. How about a "Culture Club of Canada"? Maybe "CuCluCan" for short? Oh wait...

  11. @3:01: no one here said canadian isn't a culture. in case you're implying that this culture should be white because caucasians win against yellow/brown/black people in the competition of Who Has Been In Canada Longer? sure, go ahead and form a club called "canadians who have been here longer than non-whites" then. oh wait, no you can't -- aboriginals have been here longer than you.

also, a little lesson in reading comprehension: no one here said Asian is one big culture. there's a canadian asian club (CASA) that celebrates ALL the different asian cultures, PLURAL. if you wanted to, you are very well welcome to make a EUROPEAN club if you want =P but i guess you said it yourself, you have no cultural link to france or england.

  12. P.S. if the european heritage is the closest you have to a culture, it's no one's fault but your own that you feel you are not linked to it (and not every canadian is detached from their cultural heritage). until the time you re-establish some sort of cultural heritage for yourself, or until you kick all the non-white people out :P the canadian identity is still shared with whites and non-whites alike.

  13. How about a club that celebrates having absolutely no cultural link to your heritage at all?

  15. i've actually heard this idea from someone else, so I might know you OP. What would you do in this club anyway? White cultural dances? eat pot roast and baked potatoe with no seasoning?

  16. @2:40 Because Canada is already one big multicultural club.

  17. 9:24, you have to realize that Canada isn't multicultural at all. Only major cities experience any sense of diversity and towns like Waterloo are student areas. If you take a census of the families here you'll see that the vast majority are not diverse in ethnicity and race.

Having said that, we also have to remember that just because we're living together, doesn't mean we can disregard people and segregate ourselves.

Thus, a multicultural club would be a pretty good experience.
