WTF: Every night I go to bed thinking I can deal with the failure and I can turn this around, that in 10 years from now it won't matter, but every morning I wake up feeling like the only thing keeping me from swallowing a giant bottle of pills is that I wouldn't want to put my parents through that. What do I do?

  4. I went through the same thing last term, go to counselling, talk to a friend about it, even go see your family doctor (they can give you a referal).

Trust me, just telling someone makes you fell 10 times better. And if you talk to a medical professional or counselling services employee you're guarenteed confidentiality.

  6. I have tried to kill myself.Luckily I failed, but you really realise what ur life is valued as when you can see the impact of your choices. The best way to approach this is the FEEL your feelings as they happen then thnk about them and AT that point identify the aspects of your life you would like to change to make yourself feel better. Good luck visit a councilor. Dont be selfish.

  7. You should first of all realize that a negative attitude, though easy to fall into when times are tough, makes the slightest problem seem like an impossible obstacle. I mean, through experience you learn what you are capable, but the first step is believing you can, the second steps is going out and trying. You CAN do it! Good friends, being honest with your parents, and being willing to reach out for help is the key. The first year here, I did horrible, nearly failed out, today I have an A average and I love this place and what it has to offer. Just find your place, don't be afraid to go to health services for counselling or just to talk to a doctor. I mean, we all feel down, it is how we deal with it that makes the difference.

  8. I feel the same way.
Probs the only reason I just dont drop out of school and become a drunk and live on the streets is because of my parents.

  9. Don't listen if people tell you it's just a "negative attitude". It sounds like what you're dealing with is actually depression, and it is WAY more common than you would think (I would know - I've been through it too).

All I can tell you is, try to talk to somebody about it. If you can just ride it out, it'll go away eventually - mine did after five or six months... that seems like a long time, but I'm just so thankful I got through it. You can do it too.

  10. thank god you have parents :)

and, generally, thank god or whoever you believe in and be happy for what you have..
have a positive outlook on life, and you'll start feeling better..
and try spending some time per day with someone you like, a friend, a close relative... or doing something you lOVE doing, like listening to music, making music, making art, reading, or just procrastinating and relaxing
    it helps.. :)
