  4. I have $20,000 in my bank account.
    Caveat:

  5. I have $23,000 in my savings with zero debt and none of which is OSAP. It's really not that hard.

  7. maybe some people have extenuating circumstances that doesnt allow them to save every penny they make. maybe they have a child, or a single parent and are paying their way through university on their own. Maybe theyre the first in their family to go to university and their family doesnt have money to give, or refuses to. Not everyones lives are identical, so before you chirp figure out the circumstances. maybe for some people it really is that hard, assholes

  8. ^ totally agree. I had one of those childhoods where it really WAS that hard and now rely on osap. Oh well, I'm a hard worker/good saver and know I will not have problems paying it back.

  9. I have $___ in my bank account, hoi hoi hoi, I'm so great!

Umm, so where did your money come from? Do you have less than 20 hours of class per week? Can you afford to find a job and keep up in school?

So, you probably worked at your mom or dad's business doing fuck all since you were 12 and you saved up SO much money - you don't have to pay rent, tuition, for food, travel, nothin - eh?

Obviously people have a hard time shelling out a few thousand dollars every term and that's why so many of us complain about money so maybe it is hard. But you're right, it's probably not - everyone has exactly the same life and exactly the same opportunities and everyone loves everyone!

  12. Not everybody can afford to save everything they make. Also, not everybody can get cushy well-paying jobs through school like you aparently did?

Either that or mommy and daddy are paying for everything in which case, shut the hell up.

  14. If you can't make enough money over summer or co-op to pull you through the next 2 terms, then you're doing something wrong.

  15. Does anyone else feel like there are a LOT of kids at UW whose parents pay their tuition & rent?

  16. I do. Also explains the high drop out rate. I'm a lot more motivated to work hard knowing I'M the one losing the money if I fuck it up.

  17. It is obvious that everyone has different backgrounds and circumstances. When I graduate in April I won't be in debt, but I certainly don't have anything saved up. I have worked hard all my life, but I also have a social life, need to put my own clothes on my back, food in my stomach, a roof over my head and pay bills for the possessions I own but probably don't really need and bought my own car. I would love to have that kind of money saved, but I don't have much assistance from my parents, and know a lot of people who also don't. I mean if you have that much saved, then I would also assume you don't have to pay or haven't had to pay for a lot of your things throughout your life, although I may be wrong to assume this. If that is just hard work and diligence and you have paid your own way this far, then I do give you credit despite your dickish comment. If you had someone pay your way, then I am much more proud of my couple thousand in the bank that I earned myself than any hand outs I might have been given along the way.
