  3. Engineers are generally pompous jackasses.

I went to a hyped-up engineering kegger which consisted of 30 males and about 3 girls sitting around a tv playing Call of Duty 4 for Xbox 360. You must feel good about yourself when you consider that a kegger.

Engineers partying hard is a fable. Drinking hard - sure. What they do when they drink kills all credibility they once had. Every engineering party I've been to has been hurting hard.

  4. Yeah, some I know are really nice, and some have huge superiority complexes. They don't seem to care, I always assumed it was overcompensation.

  5. haha generalizing engineers as pompous jackasses is just the same as engineers generalizing themselves as the best.
some of us are losers, some of us are cool. just like every other faculty. the thing about engineers here are that they're the cool ones among the nerds, which makes their heads explode for some reason.
but i'm pretty sure a lot of people at uw, engineers or not, don't know how to party.

  7. wow @ last anonymous, your friends don't sound too friendly

My eng friends regularly encourage me that engineers don't have good reason to be full of themselves, and there is no reason to envy them.

That being said, I've met plenty of eng jerks.. the school makes it very easy to reinforce their attitude...

  8. I think there are only a selected group of engineers that are full of themselves - computer, software & nano

The only thing engineers have is the coop.
So what if you landed a good coop placement? Good for you. And wait - I don't give a shit.

  9. The computer engs I've met have actually been nice, the mech ones I find to be full of themselves. Their bosses are probably people who went through for arts and/or business anyway so gl hf to them

  10. Engsoc is "a clique" because people who spend a lot of time working on things tend to be friends, and people who are friends tend to work on things together. Is this concept really that hard to grasp?
