  1. ^Perhaps if you don't shove your tampon in so far, you'll see it's all just a joke. Take a deep breath, relax, and laugh.

  4. Don't get pissed at FEDS for doing their jobs... it's their legal obligation if you get drunk and retarded to do something about it!!!

  5. Sorry some students have to work.... we all don't get engineering co-op salaries.

  6. All you Bomber staff are corrupt and control freaks. You don't own the bar, and you know what, Engineers are 25% of the student population. I hope you enjoy getting charges pressed against you. You treat us like shit, now see how much more you go into the red...

  7. out of curiosity what sort of charges are being pressed?

  8. Yeah - charges? Discrimination charges cause they wouldn't let y'all into Bomber? Is someone actually following through with that? I suspect it was probably some drunken quest random engies decided to yell about but it won't actually happen.

...you know they have the right to refuse service, eh?

  9. climbing over barriers, jumping on other patrons, ripping clothes off of people, who the fuck do you think you are? how is this acceptable behaviour anywhere, let alone a bar? You need to understand what real life is like...

  10. Just to clarify since some people are confusing it with the Friday (which is understandable, since we call both "IRS"), but this was a private event in Fed Hall on Saturday night. Most of us don't have problems with what happened on Friday. Bomber was at capacity (or something like that), that's fine.

"jumping on other patrons", who happen to be our friends and were OK with it.

"ripping clothes off of people", which is the idea of the event. Only black is allowed, and anyone wearing other clothes came into this with the intention of getting them ripped off. It's tradition.

"You need to understand what real life is like."
You're telling this to people who have spent 2 years on work term, where they're completely independent and, most of the time, far from most of their friends. Also, we don't pull this kind of crap at bars. So, what exactly do you mean by "real life"?

This is OUR event, and it has been run in this exact way (and with the same 'activities') for many years with no problems. On IRS, you are not just a bar, you're a bar we hired for our private party, and you ruined that party. How does that reflect on you?

  11. Yup, thats why we all hate engineers.

Everything is about you. Put your Ego in check and think about how your actions effect other people. For Example. Your douchbaggery put the liquor license of the whole university at risk.

Look back a few years when bomber and Fed Hall were shut down when someone got hurt at a New Years Party there. If someone had been injured Bomber and Poets also would have been shut down, probably for good this time.

I don't work for Feds but they were in the right. Deal with it.

  12. Yes, you rented it for a private functions but that doesn't make our rules change. They are the policies of a University run bar, not a private venue. It goes safety of the staff, safety of the patrons and then safety of the bar. We let you get away with so much conduct that wouldn't have been allowed at any event, not Frosh, not Concerts, not any other faculty event. The stage you were on has a 50 person capacity under Fire Code, it was next to several large windows, which you were pushing each other against. There is one liquor license for the whole campus, including catering and all the bars. It isn't fair to say all the engineers were out of control that night, most were very well behaved and very polite, but the organizers of the event were complete douches right from the start. The girl that is allegedly pressing charges (despite punching a staff several times in the head after he pushed through her and several others to break up your idiocy) shouldn't have even been in the event, she didn't even bring her ID but they were polite and let her stay provided she didn't drink. I didn't witness any staff being unreasonable or assertive until you all lost your shit when the Big Fucking Wrench came out. What are you, 12 year old girls at a Jonas brothers concert? If you want to get drunk, dance, have a good time, that is fine, if you want to act like idiot cult followers, rent a barn or a warehouse and knock yourselves out. Also, name any other licensed establishment besides Poets that would let you act that way?

Next year rent an arena or hall, get a private liquor license from the city, and provide your own security and go to town with your traditions. I mean I respect them, they are deeply routed and you had a lot of steam to let off, I also realize that they are not acceptable in that type of venue.

  13. "They didn't follow all the procedures," Walker said about the staff who handled the New Year's Eve party. "People were there who shouldn't have been there . . . there was no sign-in procedure." Policy says that Fed Hall events are for UW students, students of nearby institutions, and a limited number of signed-in guests."

Whoa whoa whoa... FEDS Security screwed up?

Our actions were perfectly in line, we even had many sober people making sure everything was going well.

Also, POETS is not run by FEDS. When the New Years incident happened, it was only Bomber/Fed Hall that were shut down. We have a separate liquor license.

  14. I also heard about at least one incident Friday at Bomber and it involved someone bringing in outside alcohol, which no bar allows, and then causing shit when he was asked to give it up.

  15. "We have a separate liquor license."

Nevermind, I was wrong on that. However, we're run by Food Services, not FEDS.

  16. Ooh, good argument there.
