  1. because some of them actually are. you don't have to be super tall unless you're a catwalk model.

  4. Getting your friends to take pictures of you and putting them as your facebook display pictures does not constitute you as a professional model. People who 'model' in the CASA fashion show are not professional models, especially the males who are under 5'5". It's pretty much a blatant joke, and I think they even understand it in that respect

  6. 12:30am,

I don't think the person was talking about CASA modelling or personal camwhoring. Legitimate modelling exists for women under 5'6". Yes, even for Asian women.

    Don't be so presumptuous.

and 1:03, if you're referring to OP, of COURSE OP was referring to CASA models. what ELSE would it be in reference too.

    Don't be so presumptuous :)

  10. @12:16: you're taking for granted OP was referring to CASA models when it wasn't mentioned in the post at all.

definition of "presumption": an assumption that is taken for granted

  11. there certainly is only one kinda of model - the cat walk super model. Other models in any other form of media do not count. Right OP?

  12. You clearly have not done your research or is not really involved in the industry much.

As for CASA, it is not required for those in the show to be actual models. They're just students putting a show on for charity.

5"0 models and under definitely face a lot of scrutiny, especially since modeling is an elitist industry as is. Very few are successful in the mainstream, but get steady work nonetheless in specific genres of modeling. Runway and editorial are just not one of them.

  13. Also, they're not being cocky (or 'think they're actual models'), they just gotta put up an attitude for entertainment's sake. Like getting in character.
