WTF: I'm in 3B and starting to figure out that I really don't like my program any more. What should I do? Ride it out and be miserable for the next year an a half or look at my options and move in another direction?

    If you can still change it easily enough and you feel it is worth the effort/costs then go for it (it is your future). Also keep in mind that the working world may be completely different than what you see in school.

    Most programs are quite similar in structure to another program. A little change might make a big difference.

    What program, and what do you hate about it? Make sure you don't have some romanticized notion about how great another program, department, etc. is, and keep in mind depending on your degree you might end up doing things totally unrelated to what you're studying.

    If you're good at it but just don't like it, I say you ride it out because why waste all that money you've already spent? Then, you could get a part time job in whatever field that is, and then start in on school for the program you really want.
